My Practice

First Indoor Session and Charges

I suggest an initial 50 minute consultation for which I charge £30.  All initial consultations take place in a traditional counselling room setting and are there for us to get a sense of whether - or how - we might work together.  I'll ask you some standard questions, we'll talk generally about your reasons for coming to counselling and I'll go through my confidentiality policy. You'll also be able to ask me questions if you'd like to.  You may wish to use the contact form on this website to initiate this process or telephone me to discuss your needs before a first session.   If I have your telephone number I'll call you back as soon as I can.

Ongoing Indoor Sessions and Charges

If we agree to work together I charge £45 for a 50 minute weekly session.  We'll discuss together how long we initially contract to see each other for and periodically review this process of discussing, reviewing and agreeing timescales.

Concessions may be available for students or people on low incomes.

I currently accept cash, cheque or BACS transfer.

Optional Outdoor Sessions and Charges

If we agree to work together outside I charge £45 for a 50 minute weekly session.  All initial consultations take place indoors (see above) where we discuss where and how we might work together.  We have flexibility to decide, after discussion, not to work outdoors or to go outdoors occasionally or regularly.  Where we work will depend on needs and circumstances.

If less than 24 hours’ notice to cancel is given, or a session is missed without notice, the cost of that session will be charged.

On-street metered parking is available near William Street. The nearest bus stop is Shandwick Place, a four minute walk from the practice.

I currently offer fee paying counselling sessions in Edinburgh (10 William Street, Edinburgh, EH3 7NH) and East Lothian (near North Berwick).

William Street has the option of a ground floor counselling room, one step up from the street.  Other rooms at William Street are unfortunately not suitable for wheelchair users.  The counselling room in East Lothian is also a step up from street level.  There are toilet facilities in both buildings. Please arrive as close as possible to the start time of your session.
