First Indoor and/or Online Session and Charges
I suggest an initial 50 minute consultation for which I charge £30. Initial consultations take place either online or in a traditional counselling room setting and allow us a sense of whether - or how - we might work together. I'll ask you some standard questions, we'll talk generally about what brings you to counselling and I'll go through my confidentiality policy. You'll also be able to ask me questions if you'd like to. You may wish to use the contact form on this website to initiate this process or telephone me to discuss your needs though please note that the telephone number supplied on this website is only periodically checked for messages.
Ongoing Indoor and/or Online Sessions and Charges
If we agree to work together I charge £55 for 50 minutes face-to-face weekly and £45 for 50 minutes online weekly. We can discuss together how long we might initially contract to see each other for and periodically review our arrangement.
Concessions may be available for students or people on low incomes.
Payment by BACS is preferred where possible.
Optional Outdoor Sessions and Charges
If we agree to work together outdoors I charge £55 for 50 minutes. All initial consultations take place indoors (see above) where we discuss where and how we might work together. We have flexibility to decide, after discussion, not to work outdoors or to go outdoors occasionally or regularly, depending on needs and circumstances.
If a session is cancelled with less than a week's notice the cost of that session will be charged.
The nearest bus stop to William Street is Shandwick Place, a four minute walk from the practice. On-street metred parking is available in and around William Street.
I currently offer counselling sessions online and in person when possible at The Next Chapter in Edinburgh (10 William Street, Edinburgh, EH3 7NH). I also offer sessions outdoors in Edinburgh and the Lothians.
In terms of accessibility William Street has the option of a ground floor counselling room, one step up from the street though other rooms at William Street are unfortunately not suitable for wheelchair users. My own counselling room in East Lothian is also a step up from street level. There are toilet facilities in both buildings. Please arrive as close as possible to the start time of your session.
I am unable to provide medical diagnoses. If this is what you need please contact your local GP.
